What You Can Do Right Now

  1. Shop Local

There are dozens of local businesses that are up and running, implementing CDC-recommended protocols to maximize safety. Whether it’s buying a meal for you and your family, for healthcare workers, or for others in need, shopping local will help support local businesses while allowing you the chance to enjoy a lunch or dinner away from your kitchen.

  2. Follow the CDC’s Recommendations

Standing at least six feet apart ensures you and those around you are minimizing the opportunity for infection. Wear a mask if you have one, not only to protect yourself from others, but also to protect others from yourself.

  3. Know the Symptoms

Fever, headache, shortness of breath. These are the most common symptoms of those infected with COVID-19. There are other symptoms as well that occur in a small percentage of patients. If you feel like you’re sick at all, please, stay home and call your primary care physician or the health department.

A great opportunity to do good today

The Coronavirus Response Fund, hosted by Community Foundation of the Chattahoochee Valley in partnership with United Way of the Chattahoochee Valley, is providing flexible resources to organizations in the Columbus area working with our most vulnerable citizens: members of communities who are disproportionately impacted by Coronavirus (COVID-19) and the economic consequences of this outbreak. The philanthropic response is working closely with government, business & philanthropic partners to help the Response Fund rapidly deploy resources to community-based organizations at the front lines of our area’s current Coronavirus pandemic.
